Itinerary

  • Welcome to Helsinki!

Following a warm greeting from your tour manager, we’ll journey north, leaving the city behind as our flight carries us into the heart of the Arctic Circle. As our plane descends, we’ll get our first glimpse of Lapland's pristine wilderness with snow laden forests stretching out as far as the eye can see.

On arrival, our wilderness guides will escort us to our first stop - SIIDA, the national museum dedicated to preserving Indigenous Sámi culture and heritage. After a guided visit and light lunch, we’ll resume our journey onwards, travelling through picturesque national parks and pausing to meet a local artisan and hear the story behind her craft.

By late afternoon, we will arrive at our secluded lakeside cabin, our home for the next three nights. As evening settles, we’ll gather for a candlelit welcome dinner before the sauna is heated - a chance to unwind before we drift off to sleep amongst the quiet of the Nordic wilderness.

  • After a restful night’s sleep, we’ll savour a hearty Nordic breakfast prepared by Satu, our chef and skilled wilderness guide, in the comfort of our cabin.

Today, we set out on an intimate journey to meet a local Sámi family, who have practiced reindeer husbandry for generations. By snowmobile sleigh, we will glide through the snowy wilderness in search of their herd, then, up close, witness these gentle creatures as they gather and feed in their natural habitat.

We will settle around a campfire for a light lunch, reindeer surrounding us as we hear stories from our Sámi friends. In the afternoon, we’ll return to our cabin to relax in the sauna. For those who are feeling brave enough, you will have your first opportunity to try a traditional Nordic wellness ritual - an ice plunge. After heating up in the sauna, a short walk through snow covered trees will take you to the ice hole - an invigorating experience you won’t soon forget..

  • Following a leisurely breakfast, we’ll set out on snowshoes, exploring the surrounding forests and pristine frozen lakes. Our journey will lead us to a secret location, known only to locals, where you will have the opportunity to try one of Finland’s most beloved pastimes - ice fishing. This is no ordinary ice fishing experience.. be prepared for something truly unique. With a touch of luck, we’ll enjoy lunch in the wilderness, featuring our very own catch.

After some free time back at the cabin, we’ll venture out again after sundown, keeping our fingers crossed for a glimpse of the magical colours of the Northern Lights.

As evening falls, we’ll retreat to our cabin to cosy up by the fire or indulge in our evening ritual in the sauna.

  • This morning we will gather our suitcases and bid farewell to our cabin before visiting a local artisan, who will introduce us to another of the region’s traditional crafts, inviting us to try our own hands at this.

Afterwards, we’ll set off west toward our next destination, pausing for a light lunch along the way. Our journey will take us past spectacular winter vistas and scenic viewpoints, offering a breathtaking glimpse at some iconic Arctic landscape as we continue onward to our next stay.

As we arrive at our accommodation, a remote hotel nestled on the edge of one of Finland’s most beautiful national parks, we will keep our fingers crossed for a glimpse of the breathtaking pink and purple skies common to this time of year. This afternoon, we will have the afternoon free to ourselves - to relax or explore the grounds of the hotel. In the evening, we’ll gather again in the hotel’s restaurant to savour a selection of exquisite Nordic specialties and flavours.

  • This morning, we will set out on a snowmobile safari, racing past snow laden trees and through breathtaking winter landscapes. Along the way, we’ll pause by a crackling fire to enjoy a warming drink, soaking in the serene silence of the surrounding wilderness.

We will return to the hotel in time for lunch, and afterwards, we will have some free time to relax, or alternatively, try a spot of traditional ice fishing.

In the evening, we’ll make our way on foot to a traditional Lappish cabin, where Satu will prepare a mouth watering meal, inviting us to sample some local flavours as we are enchanted by storytelling. As always, we will keep our eyes on the weather and the skies, hoping for a glimpse of the Northern Lights.

  • After breakfast, we’ll gather our bags and set off for a thrilling ice karting adventure. We’ll begin with a couple of practice laps before racing head to head. The top three drivers will be celebrated in a medal ceremony, earning well deserved bragging rights for the remainder of the trip!

We’ll then dine at an award-winning wilderness restaurant, reserved exclusively for our group, where we’ll indulge in an elevated culinary experience showcasing refined, high end interpretations of regional flavours. Afterwards, we will visit a nearby snow hotel to admire its intricate ice and snow sculptures.

In the evening we will bid farewell to our wilderness guides and board the overnight train to Helsinki. After dinner on the train, we will settle into our private sleeper cabins, lulled to sleep by the gentle sway of the train as we speed back south.

  • We’ll wake to the gentle rhythm of the train and a light breakfast will be delivered to our rooms as we take in the views of the surrounding countryside. On arrival in Helsinki, a driver will transfer us to our centrally located hotel, where we’ll leave our bags before heading out on a guided walking tour of the city.

You’ll then have free time to explore the vibrant capital, perhaps browsing boutiques, relaxing in a cosy café, or indulging in a sauna and heated ocean pool, before we reunite for a chic farewell dinner, a chance to reflect on the past seven days we have shared together.

  • We have reached the last day of our tour! Today we will enjoy our final breakfast together, before saying our goodbyes and bidding farewell to our journey through the Arctic.
